Thanks to the tireless work of the Vignaioli di Scansano winegrowers, Morellino di Scansano has won important awards, including the DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) designation. Today, the Vignaioli di Scansano continue to carry on the Maremma winemaking tradition, constantly innovating and improving, with the goal of keeping the history and excellence of their wines alive.

  • Introduction to the Winery: The tour begins with an introduction to the winery and its history. Founded in 1972, Cantina dei Vignaioli di Scansano is a cooperative of more than 150 winemakers, all committed to sustainable cultivation and the production of high-quality wines.
  • Vineyard and Winery Tour: Guests are taken on a tour of the vineyards, where they can learn about the agronomic practices adopted to grow the vines, with a focus on sustainability and respect for the environment. The tour continues inside the winery, where the winemaking process, from crushing the grapes to barrel aging, can be observed up close.
  • Guided T asting: The tasting is the highlight of the visit. Guests have the opportunity to taste a selection of wines, guided by an expert sommelier who explains the characteristics of each wine, its origin, and winemaking techniques. Wines for tasting include: Morellino di Scansano DOCG: The winery’s flagship, a red wine made mainly from Sangiovese grapes, with aromas of red fruit and spices, and a soft, enveloping palate. Vermentino: A fresh and aromatic white wine with notes of citrus and white flowers, perfect with fish and seafood dishes. Ciliegiolo: An indigenous red that expresses intense cherry and berry aromas, with a soft structure and delicate tannins. Vin Santo: A traditional sweet wine made from dried grapes and aged in small kegs, ideal for pairing with desserts and cheeses.
