daniel spoerri's gardenGarden by Daniel Spoerri

Created starting in the 1990s by the Swiss-born artist Daniel Spoerri, this park is located on the outskirts of Seggiano, on Monte Amiata, in the southern territories of Tuscany.

The park extends for about 16 hectares between the municipality of Seggiano and the hamlet of Pescina. Daniel Spoerri’s Garden hosts 112 works created by different artists.

The history of the garden

The garden has been open to the public since 1997 and is managed by the “Il Giardino di Daniel Spoerri – Hic Terminus Haeret” Foundation. Daniel Spoerri, before arriving in Seggiano, lived in New York, Simi, Düsseldorf and Paris, arrived on Amiata in the early 90s and began to give life to this wonderful place, a park-museum.

The garden

Daniel Spoerri’s Garden extends over 16 hectares among large green gardens and woods, a sort of enchanted place animated by 112 visionary works by various artists from all over the world. In addition to the sculptural itinerary, there is an alternative botanical one with numerous species identified with specific panels that describe their typology and peculiarities.
The path of the sculptures leads to the discovery of all the installations created in the park.
