Museum of Jewish Culture

In the heart of the Jewish Ghetto district of Pitigliano, this museum is divided into two sections.

The first exhibits the testimonies of the Jewish people who lived in the Pitigliano Ghetto starting from the 16th century.

Some of these testimonies tell the life of the people in the Tuscan town, others provide interesting information on Jewish traditions and religion.

The other section shows the ceremonial objects used during sacred functions in the Synagogue and in the other sacred buildings of the ghetto.

The museum also houses a beautiful collection of baroque paintings depicting images sacred to the Jewish religion.
