Town Hall
Built in the early 20th century on the ruins of the older Palace of Justice, the Municipal Palace of
Montieri
was designed by Lorenzo Porciatti, who had a penchant for the neo-Gothic style.
The characteristic combination of brick and travertine blocks on the facade gives this building a grand appearance and makes it stand out from the square.
Neo-Gothic art lovers are quick to list the similarities between this building and Grosseto’s Palazzo Aldobrandeschi, and they are quite right; Lorenzo Porciatti also designed that building and all of Montieri’s elementary schools.
