The Cinnamons
It is located on the eastern side of the island, south of Giglio Porto. It is the second largest beach after Giglio Campese. You can get there on foot
following a paved road of about 1.5 kilometers (15-20 minutes of walking) which starts from the port. The site can also be reached by car or by sea using the Taxi-boat service whose departure is alongside the arrival of the ferries. There is no bus connection, but private taxi shuttles are available. A very casual and fun way to get there is to rent a Vespa upon your arrival in port. This means of locomotion will take you to every point of the island quickly, while ensuring easy parking wherever you go. The car park is located in the Villaggio delle Cannelle, near the beach. This is a paid solution. Continuing, further on there is a free square, but, to be sure of finding a place, in this case it is better to arrive early in the morning.
The sand consists of grains of quartz, white and fine. The beach slopes gently and the shallow water makes it ideal for families with children. Furthermore, here there are bathing establishments equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs, sunbeds, cabins, showers and refreshment points. For those who love water sports it will be possible to rent equipment to practice them at all levels, for both adults and children. Those who love to explore the coast from the sea can also rent boats and pedal boats on site.
The sandy spit is about 100 meters long. At both ends the coast becomes rocky. It's nice to venture onto the rocks by land, but it's even better to explore the seabed rich in fish by snorkelling. In the busiest periods, the equipment for hire on the beach occupies most of the beach.
If you are among those who love tranquility and silence, we recommend continuing along path 23 for another 20 minutes and reaching the Caldane beach, smaller and wilder. The fact that this destination is further from the port also makes it less crowded. Those who arrive on the island to spend a day preferably choose Le Cannelle.
If you have the opportunity to visit the island in the low season, such as in spring and autumn, you will be lucky enough to be able to discover the most fascinating version of this beach. The color of the sea, which ranges from the intense blue of the rocks to the turquoise of the sandy bottom, contrasts with the white of the sand, bringing to mind the most beautiful coasts of Sardinia. The sound of the wind among the eucalyptus plants and the ripples of the sea are the perfect background for a relaxing day.
Don't forget to bring your photography equipment if you love taking photos. Both the beach and the panoramic path in the direction of Caldane are wonderful starting points for your shots.

From Giglio Porto take the provincial road that leads to Giglio Castello e
after two hundred meters you take the asphalt road to Cannelle.
As already mentioned, you can also arrive by car and park at the village
delle Cannelle or at the free square.

Tips for visiting
If you don't have too much time, because you've only planned a day trip, this is the closest beach to the port. The water is very clean and the beach is the second largest (and one of the most beautiful) on the island.
If you like walking, the route is not challenging. It can also be done with a stroller in tow. But we always talk about almost two kilometers of journey, which, if done under the sun in the summer, make themselves felt. Alternatively, you can take one of the taxi shuttles that leave from the port. The cost is really reasonable, 2 euros per person. Always to maximize the time available, this is a really good possibility. In 5 minutes you will be at your destination.
The beach is mainly equipped. Especially in the high season there is not much beach area that remains free. However, arriving in the morning, with one of the first ferries, it shouldn't be impossible to find a corner in which to place your equipment. In this case it is advisable to bring an umbrella. Even if, in the hottest hours, you can always opt for a break from the sun by choosing to have lunch at the resort's restaurant.
The seabed is very beautiful and if you like snorkelling, remember to bring at least a mask and snorkel.
For photography enthusiasts it should be remembered that this side of the island faces east. So it's not the best spot to shoot the sunset. But both the beach area and the path that leads to Caldane beach offer endless ideas for taking beautiful shots.
