Last chance

It is located in the southernmost point of the coast of Capalbio, on the border with Lazio. It is the last of the beaches in Tuscany and perhaps its name indicates this.

There is a bathing establishment on the site, which is open from March to September,
where it is possible to rent deckchairs and umbrellas. Furthermore there are changing rooms, cabins, showers, a restaurant, a bar and a play area for the little ones. This area is partially shielded from the sun, to allow children to play outdoors even during the hottest hours of the day. This point is fenced and offers greater security. A Bazaar has also been set up inside the bathroom: a point of sale where it is possible to buy clothing and handicraft items.

A short distance from the beach there is also a paid car park, one of the few places where you can leave your car. The alternative would be to park along the coast road, but only on the left side, otherwise you will get a fine. To then walk to the sea. The car park is also located inside, compared to the point where the equipped area is located, and, to get to the sea, you have to follow a path in the pine forest.

The sandy coast from this point to the stretch that is part of the WWF Oasis of Lake Burano, the Chiarone beach, and beyond until reaching Macchiatonda, is approximately 8 kilometers long. It is very difficult not to find a place, even in the summer.

If you prefer to spend a day in nature and for you the comforts of a bathroom take second place, just continue along the shoreline and move away from the equipped area. However, even those who choose the free beach don’t disdain the convenience of taking a shower to wash off the sand before getting back in the car. Showers are available to everyone at a cost of 0.50 Euros.

If you then like to put your legs under the table and take a break from the sun for lunch, the Ultima Spiaggia restaurant is for you. Stopping for a cool drink at the hotel’s bar is also a nice break during the day. In the evening then stopping to watch the sunset, before returning, is part of the experiences that make summer memories special.

The stretch of free beach, closest to the bathing establishment, is called the Penultimate Beach. It offers the possibility of renting deckchairs and umbrellas, to be placed as you like by the sea, taking advantage of those comforts that someone would not be able to give up at a reduced price, and with greater freedom.

Going back to talking briefly about the restaurant: here for lunch both the à la carte catering service and a buffet are offered, for those who prefer to eat more quickly to make the most of the day at the beach. It is also possible to request service on the beach, which will allow you to have lunch under your umbrella. We would also like to point out that evening opening with à la carte menu has recently been introduced, on Friday and Saturday evenings in the months of June and July. The restaurant is open every evening in August.

How to reach it

The beach is easily reachable from the Aurelia by taking the Capalbio Scalo exit. Then proceed following the signs for the Ultima Spiaggia. There you will find paid parking near the coast (around 4 euros for an afternoon).

Well-equipped beach with bar-restaurant, canoes and pedal boats, but also respectful of the somewhat wild environment of the Maremma. Characteristic and equipped with a wonderful bazaar including a tent with typical Moroccan handicraft products. Very nice !!!

Very well-kept beach, you can get there by crossing a pine forest, I recommend arriving early because there is the possibility of parking for free on the side of the road (only on the left side otherwise there will be a fine!) or at a paid car park right next to the pine forest. Sandy beach and crystal clear water, the services are there and are complete. For any need, everything is within reach. The prices of the restaurants/cafés are on average expensive but it's worth it for a pleasant day … Definitely the best beach in the area.

Very comfortable beach with parking (4 euros in the afternoon). The "owner" beach is very beautiful, comfortable, with comfortable and well-spaced umbrellas and sunbeds - questionable cost - (20 euros per sunbed). Next door is a free beach with umbrella rental (€8) and sunbeds (€10). Services available, showers for a (minimum) fee. Bar and restaurant available.

Tips for visiting

This beach is recommended for those who like being able to go to the beach without having to organize bringing everything from home. Also excellent for those who will stay in Capalbio with their family. It is possible to rent a cabin and leave all the children’s beach toys there, without having to go back and forth from home.
