Last weekend of September

The Grape Festival is only the last of the events in the month of September dedicated to wine in all its facets.

In September, the entire village of Scansano is transformed to celebrate its most important festival, two consecutive weekends to celebrate one of the most famous wines in the world, the Morellino di Scansano DOCG, with music and lots of joy, with tastings and interesting events dedicated.

Regarding the wine, the Morellino di Scansano is produced for 85% from Sangiovese produced exclusively in the area and in the neighboring municipalities, the DOCG recognition arrived in 1997.

During the Grape Festival, the ancient cellars of the historic center are opened, offering a glass of wine accompanied by typical local products, cured meats, cheeses and much more.
