Amusement parks

For children, the Maremma represents, in itself, a great playground.
From the animals of the farms to those of the nature reserves. From the beautiful beaches where you can create elaborate constructions with sand and make a thousand entries into the water with or without diving, to the paths on which you can go cycling, from the first emotions on horseback, to the surfing, windsurfing, tap and canoeing schools.

In reality, the Maremma is a large playground even for the older ones, who in addition to all these activities, know how to appreciate the scenery of the sunsets, the maritime pine forests, the villages nestled on the rolling hills.

The Maremma Park, in particular the beach of Marina di Alberese, can be compared to a real amusement park in its natural state. There are park animals that live in the wild: foxes, wild boars, porcupines, roe deer and fallow deer. You meet them on the sides of the road, you see them grazing in clearings and prairies, but sometimes you also find them on the beach and they let you get close enough to almost touch them, and then remember what species you are, and then move away out of caution. And then there are the sheds, built by park visitors during the summer. Almost all of them disappear in winter, knocked down and carried away by wind and storms. They come in all sizes, from those made to accommodate just two people to those that could look like a castle and allow you to have a party… To the tiny ones, which could only fit a doll. And then the sculptures made of shells, pine cones, pieces of wood, which, hanging from ropes and fishing lines collected on the shoreline, dance in the wind. Also worth mentioning are the larger tree trunks, placed in sequence to create a path on which to balance, or brought there by the sea, which has created the most beautiful sculptures with them and offers them to us to admire.

There are also art gardens, where adults see the artistic side of the works created and children discover the playful side. Like the Paul Fuchs Sound Garden in Boccheggiano, or Rodolfo Lacquaniti’s Giardino Viaggio di Ritorno in Castiglione della Pescaia: an art garden in which all the installations were created with recycled materials.

We could already be fine like this.

If, in addition, you can find quality themed amusement parks, the choice expands, and the alternatives offered can also reach those who are looking for more structured places, with everything that can be found in these parks: swimming pools, games water, toboggans, slides, suspended rails, shows, creative workshops.

In Follonica there is Acqua Village, a themed water park covering an area of almost 12 hectares, which in all its structures and settings is inspired by Hawaiian scenarios and colors. Also in Follonica, another great attraction that greatly amuses children and allows adults to move around the town without having to take the car is the Magictrain: a little train that follows two itineraries that wind between the interior of the town and the of the seafront.

Then the Cavallino Matto, in Castagneto Carducci, which extends over an area of more than 10 hectares, in the middle of a pine forest, 500 meters from beautiful sandy beaches, which have been awarded the European blue flag for years. The structures of this park range from those for the little ones to those dedicated to the most daring and include roller coasters, high-speed courses, a free-fall structure, a giant wheel that swings by changing direction and many other proposals and routes. For those who wish, it is possible to eat inside the amusement parks, in order to maximize the time to devote to the amusements present.

All these places are also located a short distance from splendid villages rich in history, museums that tell the story of the area, beautiful beaches so extensive that they are almost never crowded.

Last but not least, the Maremma food and wine guarantees that everyone will not go home without having tasted the best traditional recipes or the excellent fish dishes cooked and prepared in an excellent way in the restaurants on the coast.
So all-round fun for all tastes (in the true sense of the word: hearing, smell, taste, sight, touch).
