The ark of Thing in Via Sacra was the city's place of worship. It overlooks the sea and Orbetello in a very picturesque location.

The arx is divided into two buildings. The largest is thought to have been the Capitolium, which was used for ceremonies related to the founding of the city. The temple would have had thick columns and shiny terracotta tiles in a style typical of the Etruscan-Italic period.

Archaeologists do not think the building is older than 150 B.C. It is likely that an old temple dedicated to Jupiter was in place before that.
The smaller building is another temple thought to be dedicated to the Roman god of fertility and the sea Mater Matuta.
