Giglio Porto
Giglio Porto is the commercial and tourist heart of Giglio Island. Ferries from Porto Santo Stefano arrive and depart here.
This is where fishermen have brought their catches to be sold in the market since the time of the Roman Empire.
And it is here that locals take their morning or afternoon walks admiring the changing tides and beautiful store windows.
Whether you're looking for restaurants, stores, or the vibrant nightlife of Giglio, this is the place to go, and once you arrive, you'll be spoiled for choice.
After getting off the ferry, go straight to Customs Square. This is a nice place to stop, watch the boats and people go about their business, and decide where to go next.
You can take the bus from Giglio Porto to Giglio Campese and Giglio Castello. It leaves every half hour and the ticket costs €2 per single ride. On Umberto Street is the island's tourist information office.
Saracen Tower
Commissioned in the 16th century and rebuilt many times thereafter, this stone tower stands in stark contrast to the brightly colored houses on either side.
