Collacchioni Palace
A fascinating Renaissance palace hidden inside one of the towers of the Rocca Aldobrandesca in Via Collacchioni in the heart of Capalbio. Inside are three floors of some of the most beautifully frescoed rooms I have ever seen.
The frescoes on the furniture are all 19th century antiques. It is arranged in such a way that it seems to you that you are peeking into a house two centuries old.
There is even an original forte-piano by Conrad Graf, said to have been played by Giacomo Puccini. It will leave you speechless, trust me!
While visiting the palace, be sure to stop and admire the terrace and ancient well, as well as the art exhibitions that are often held here.
You can also climb to the top of the tower and enjoy an unobstructed view of Capalbio and the surrounding countryside.
It's hard to know when the palace is open to visitors (it changes all the time), so the best thing to do is stop by.
Entrance to the palace is €1.
The Capalbio tourist information center is located on the lower floor of the building.
