Parish Church of Saints Flora and Lucilla

Completed in 1142, but restored in the mid-15th century and completely renovated in the late 18th century, the Pieve delle Sante Flora e Lucilla is the parish church of Santa Fiora.

The simple stone facade is divided into two parts by a horizontal cornice, a Renaissance portal, and a very Gothic eye, which is located under the coat of arms of the Aldobrandeschi family, who ruled Santa Fiora in the 12th century.

Inside, the church is divided into three naves separated by round arches. Here you will find a collection of beautiful 15th-century Della Robbia pottery. The ceramic is made of bright white marble that shimmers and is filled with brilliant blues and greens. They capture an array of saints and cherubs with incredibly realistic detail.

You will also see the Coronation of the Virgin and the Stigmata of St. Francis and St. Jerome, decorated with garlands of leaves, fruits and flowers (above).
