Winter Sports
Mount Amiata is renowned for its wide variety of fantastic and especially affordable winter sports.
Sure you can go skiing in northern Italy, but if you’re a beginner, like me, or you’re just looking to spend an afternoon on the slopes then you can’t go beyond Mount Amiata.
The daily All Access ski pass costs only €19! This will take you on 10 km of smooth and wide trails with different levels of difficulty. There are plenty of red slopes for children and beginners, and three black slopes for experts!
The skiers on Mount Amiata are also much more family-friendly than those in the north, so you don’t have to worry about getting run over by some crazy person doing 10 km/h. And you rarely have to wait in line because there are more than enough slopes to accommodate all skiers!
The ski season in Maremma begins on December 23 each year and ends on March 11, weather permitting.
You can choose from a wide range of ticket options, from hourly ski passes to consecutive discounted day passes for up to a week. Buy yours at the mountain ticket office or check the official website.
