Vine and Wine Museum
A short distance from Castel del Piano in nearby Montenero d'Orcia, this museum captures the wine culture that has characterized this region for millennia.
Simply put, the main aim of this center is to draw attention to the unique ecosystem found within the natural park, and the guides who work there are more than happy to explain exactly why this landscape is so different from anyone interested.
The center also has many suggestions on how to be more attentive to the environment in general and has dedicated much of its exhibition space to raising awareness of issues affecting Mount Amiata's wildlife, some of which are endangered.
The museum is perfect for an afternoon away from the sun or the cold, exploring the roots of two activities that are very dear to Tuscans: eating and drinking!
