The facade we see today was restored in 1938 by architect Egisto Bellini, who also modified the interior, making it a Latin cross with six naves. Although relatively young, St. Bartholomew&#8217;s Church is far grander than any other church in  <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maremma.name\/seggiano\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <span>Seggiano<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><span> and is a favorite of the local religious community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Inside, the star is undoubtedly the 17th-century green marble altar, adorned with a fine altarpiece depicting the Virgin and Child and Saints Bartholomew, Michael the Archangel and John the Evangelist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This incredible work of art was painted by Matteo Bulgarini-better known as the Master of the Barn or Ugolino Lorenzetti-in the second half of the 14th century.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Church of St. Bartholomew The Church of San Bartolemo was built in 1216 under the supervision of the Abbey of Sant&#8217;Antimo.
