{"id":8944,"date":"2023-08-23T12:49:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T11:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maremma.name\/amiata\/castel-del-piano\/nerucci-palace\/"},"modified":"2023-09-08T11:03:28","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T10:03:28","slug":"nerucci-palace","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/maremma.name\/en\/amiata\/castel-del-piano\/nerucci-palace\/","title":{"rendered":"Nerucci Palace"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"8944\" class=\"elementor elementor-8944 elementor-4614\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8360008 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8360008\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[],&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-a7a75a1\" data-id=\"a7a75a1\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-811ef14 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"811ef14\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4617 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/maremma.name\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/palazzo-nerucci-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maremma.name\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/palazzo-nerucci-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maremma.name\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/palazzo-nerucci-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/maremma.name\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/palazzo-nerucci.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><strong>Nerucci Palace<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Only one palace has managed to stand out among the grandeur of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maremma.name\/castel-del-piano\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Castel del Piano<\/a> &#8216;s many churches and that is Palazzo Nerucci.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>This building constitutes the cultural and artistic hub of the town, commissioned by Nerucci Domenico-an important local figure linked to the papal court and who held numerous ecclesiastical positions-in 1554.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nerucci&#8217;s Latin name (Domenicus Nerutius) is in fact carved on the lintel of a window on the facade of the building as proof of his ownership, along with the date AD MDLXXXII.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The entire building embodies the Renaissance style of 16th-century artist Baldassarre Peruzzi, who was inspired by the Villa della Farnesina, located on the banks of the Tiber River in Rome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The fine cream-colored plastered facade is dominated by a large wooden doorway, flanked by corbelled windows with stone lintels and cornices, giving the entire building a rustic appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The loggia, again inspired by Renaissance design, is in the shape of an &#8220;L&#8221; and leans against the northern side of the palace. Its roof is covered with wooden beams and supported by Greek-style columns and arches, as well as various inscriptions and carvings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After Nerucci&#8217;s death the palace was used as the residence of the Captains of Justice. It then housed the Town Hall, which remained here until it was moved to Palazzo Ginnaneschi in the last century.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Today the palace houses an <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maremma.name\/castel-del-piano\/art-collection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <span>incredibly beautiful and valuable art collection.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nerucci Palace Only one palace has managed to stand out among the grandeur of Castel del Piano &#8216;s many churches and that is Palazzo Nerucci.
