The sea and beach of Principina a Mare are simply splendid … awarded, for many years, the Blue Flag.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Principina a Mare is a delightful village in the province of Grosseto, a popular summer vacation destination, particularly loved for its beautiful sea and the large pine forest that lines the entire coastline.<\/p>\n

The beach<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Principina a Mare beach begins at the mouth of the Ombrone River continuing for about twelve kilometers in a northerly direction. In the first stretch (for about a kilometer) the beach sees the presence of imposing logs carried by the water, very peculiar and typical of Grosseto beaches (there are also many of them in the beautiful beach of Alberese, in the Maremma Natural Park) and used in many cases to make rudimentary but effective huts to protect from the sun. In this first section of the beach, one can admire the most authentic spirit of Maremma nature, wild, unspoiled and sometimes harsh, but breathtakingly beautiful…<\/p>\n

Continuing beyond the first stretch, the beach becomes a bit more welcoming; it is wide and sandy, with fine grains of white sand, and the waters are those typically clear and crystalline of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with shades ranging from deep blue to turquoise. Behind the beach, a large pine forest provides shade during the hottest hours of the day and is a wonderful, reassuring presence, with the green foliage soaring toward the blue sky, creating a wonderful contrast of colors. Principina a Mare’s pine forest extends all the way to the Monti dell’Uccellina, effectively constituting one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Maremma Park.<\/p>\n

The beach is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and establishments, but also has a large free section.<\/p>\n

The village of Principina a Mare<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Principina a Mare is a young and lively village, full of hotels, campsites and residences, very popular in summer for its wonderful sea. Many bathing establishments available, for a completely relaxing vacation, but several kilometers of free beach as well, for lovers of wild nature. Being in the heart of the Maremma, Principina a Mare offers many outdoor and nature activities, sailing, kitesurfing, and windsurfing schools, as well as opportunities to engage in hiking, biking, or horseback riding.<\/p>\n

Principina a Mare is the “younger” village of Principina Monte, both in the municipality of Grosseto.<\/p>\n

Principina Mare was born as a summer vacation area, in fact  there are many cottages nestled completely in the pine forest, some hotels, residences and a campground.<\/p>\n

Here tourists can choose between a relaxing “all-seaside” vacation, sunbathing in a fully equipped beach resort or on the very clean free beach, enjoying one of the many water sports available such as sailing, kitesurfing, jet skiing, or indulging in hiking and horseback riding in the Maremma.<\/p>\n

Principina a Mare is also only a few kilometers from the most emblazoned resorts on the Maremma coast, Punta Ala<\/a>, Talamone<\/a> and Castiglione della Pescaia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How to get to Principina a Mare<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Principina a Mare is 15 km from Grosseto, 190 km from Rome, 169 km from Florence, and 450 km from Rome.<\/p>\n

By car<\/strong><\/p>\n

From the north (Milan) : Autostrada del Sole highway to La Spezia, then Cisa highway. Then continue to Livorno and exit at the Rosignano tollbooth, continue on the SS Aurelia in the direction of Rome until Follonica Sud, then continue following the signs for Castiglione della Pescaia and then Principina a Mare.<\/p>\n

From the north (Turin) : Highway A6 direction Alessandria, then Highway A12 direction Genova, continue to Genova Est. Follow the signs for Livorno and exit at Rosignano. Take the SS Aurelia to Follonica Nord and then continue to Castiglione della Pescaia – Principina a Mare.<\/p>\n

From the north (Florence) : Florence-Siena highway, E78 road to Grosseto, then follow the signs to Principina a Mare.<\/p>\n

From the south (Rome) : Highway A12 to Civitavecchia-Tarquinia, continue on SS Aurelia towards Grosseto, exit Grosseto sud, follow signs for Principina a Mare.<\/p>\n

By air :<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main airports are Rome-Fiumicino airport 184 km, Pisa airport 174 km and Florence airport 170 km.<\/p>\n

By train : <\/strong><\/p>\n

The nearest train station is Grosseto, 15 km away.<\/p>\n

By bus : <\/strong><\/p>\n

We chose principina a mare as the destination for our summer vacation and were pleasantly surprised by its tranquility, hospitality and the beauty of the sea... The beach is very large, equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas but also with a lot of space dedicated to free beach. It is possible to engage in so many sports activities and you can move around by bike very easily, we had a great time!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

We spent a pleasant day in Principina a Mare, which is only 10 minutes from Grosseto. The beach is gigantic, with plenty of space designated for free beach, and even on a particularly crowded day we had a great time and super quiet! The water is warm and clear, a perfect day ended with a great fish dinner overlooking the sea!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

We come every year on vacation Principina a Mare because it is one of the most beautiful and welcoming places in Maremma, our campsite is located just a few minutes from the beach and is perfect for those who, like us, love the sea and unspoiled nature... plus we can get around by bike almost everywhere (the road is in fact always flat), there are many small restaurants that offer excellent traditional Maremma cuisine and many sports activities, hiking, horseback riding, kitesurfing...<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
